Summer University: Oenologie

Un programme international
I am very grateful for this Summer Program. The Summer School allows us to learn more about all of the aspects of the wine making, viticulture, based on the experience of other people. The friendly atmosphere of the School joins people, both students and teachers. It’s a great opportunity to discover new ideas, share different tendencies, discuss problems, meet new people and of course experience wines. For me it was especially important as a rare chance to introduce Russian wines for specialists in viticulture and enology from different parts of the world – US and Switzerland, Italy and France. Unfortunately Russian wines as well as viticulture of my country remain little known abroad. And this educational project allowed also a very important exchange of knowledge – about Winemaking in Russia from one side, and about Sustainability and Organic Winemaking in the World from another side, which I hope was interesting for both, teachers as well as students.
It would be also a pleasure for me to say some words about this Summer School 2009 in my native language as I know some other people will be glad to know more about this program, people who helped me during my preparations for this trip.
Мне очень важно выразить глубочайшую признательность тем, кто помогал мне при подготовке к участию в этой летней школе, а именно Алексею Померанцеву (Chateau le Grand Vostock) и Владимиру Цапелику (Независимый Винный Клуб). Участие в летних школах в этом и прошлом годах позволило мне по-новому взглянуть на то, что такое вино. Уникальная возможность посетить такие именитые хозяйства как Opus One, Mumm Napa Valley, Paso Robles сделала эту поездку незабываемой. Организаторы постарались охватить как можно более полно виноградарство и виноделие в Калифорнии, насколько это возможно уместить в четыре недели. Я надеюсь, что этот проект даст начало новому сотрудничеству и приведет к рождению новых идей.
